Sleep is a combination of two systems: our circadian rhythm and sleep drive. Our circadian rhythm, also known as our sleep rhythm, is just that — a rhythm. This natural process helps our body align the internal world of hormones and biology with the external stimuli that manage these processes. On the other hand, our sleep drive is a lot like hunger.
