Copenhagen is building a neighbourhood where cars will be obsolete. Cycle paths will be everywhere. As many streets as possible will be pedestrianized.

good excuse. There are hundreds of flat towns and thousands of flat commutes in Australia of which most fat, lazy, over-indulgent Aussies still drive. Worse than that; many of those fat, lazy, over-indulgent Aussies now have a bigoted attitude towards all cyclists which endangers lives.

2060 seems a long way away...I guess it's a long term project? ☺️ Looks like a good idea, though.

Just a little way away. However, the city already feels like this. Cycling here is a real culture and way of life. My boyfriends grandmother in 90 and still cycles - everywhere

I'm sure someone will still manage to use a truck like a lawnmower and take out a bunch of non believers.

We already have communities that don't use cars, we call them retirement villages.

oh yes, that works. When the cyclists start paying registrations like cars do they can cycle on 'their assigned' cycle lanes not in front of motorised vehicles that are made to stall behind at 10k's ph. What happens to those millions of cycles where do they park it, what storage facilities are required atm some of the 'hired' cycles end up in Yarra.
