A weekly Sunday service will no longer be compulsory for churches after a vote to change a 400-year-old law was passed by the Church of England's ruling body.

The General Synod voted to end the law - dating back to 1603 - which required priests to hold a Sunday service in every church they looked after.

The Bishop of Willesden, who proposed the change, called it"out of date".

Meanwhile, the General Synod has introduced six"pastoral principles" to improve the treatment of LGBT people.https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-47326993?ns_mchannel=social&ocid=socialflow_facebook&ns_source=facebook&ns_campaign=bbcnews&fbclid=IwAR0nHsyWYKYbk_71rQ_avO0koLB98HTOOt_zDLdfIG_GLaYQG1g-eij0xOM

They have valid reasons for doing it so I guess we just have to deal with it. We can pray and worship God everywhere and anytime we like so it should not bother us that much as long as we still have the Christian values.

One step closer to the Aberdonian reality: church buildings used as pubs, nightclubs and casinos. The future is dark, very dark! Lord have mercy on us.

Because worshipping a bronze age deity is better than pub?

At least the buildings will be used instead of falling into decay.

Quite the contrary. The future is bright as we move away from the religious dark ages.

Well it isn't a good sign at all, To those that that are Atheist, you are welcome to believe what ever, but to those who believe and find meaning in their lives with G-d as their creator, they too have the right to believe and your mockery just shows your bitterness. Churches have Sunday service, its the holy day for Christians for prayer and should not be changed. its silly to do so for the many devote Christians. Sad to see this happening.

My son's church have services on a Sunday evening and meetings throughout the week, all with a large attendance, and a big youth congregation. It is the faith that matters, not the building. God is 24/7.
