Do you think this is a better alternative? Why or why not?

I will go with that. My worry is how do you get the Brazilian government to implement a tree planting scheme.

Thanks to my kids, we always read ingredients and if it says"palm oil" (or any of its other names) we do not buy it! and the kids read all the ingredients on everything at home to make sure!!! good for them.

What's wrong with using synthetic, locally manufactured alternatives such as hexadecanoic acid?

This sounds really creative and a great alternative use of coffee grounds! We save our French press coffee grounds and add them to the garden. They’re full of micronutrients!!!

I work in a coffee shop and we have a lot of coffee ground wastage, so honestly there would be no shortage.

I think it will be a alternative because Palm oil has a high saturated fat content, which can be harmful to cardiovascular health. But, one study found that, when consumed as part of a balanced diet, “Palm oil does not have incremental risk for cardiovascular disease."

We always think something's impossible until someone comes along and proves that it is possible. All the best of luck to them! I try to stay clear of products containing palm oil but it's hard when 90% of all supermarket products contain it.

According to Cornell University:"Coffee grounds, as an organic material, can be added to your compost pile. Worms like coffee grounds, so you may want to put a layer of coffee on the bottom of your pile to attract worms."

Yes, please find more alternatives. The reason forests are being cleared for new oil-palm plantations is because the demand for palm oil grows.
