I'm in charge of dispensing prescription medications to patients and medical facilities.

I have an extensive knowledge of chemistry and anatomy/physiology to determine if prescriptions will work well for a patient’s medical conditions and pre-existing drug uses.

Fewer coffee drinkers died early than non-coffee drinkers. They were also less likely to die from heart disease and cancer, as well as other diseases.

Do you think that coffee really makes you live longer? Why or why not? Can you live without coffee?

I am skeptical about this study. I've heard a lot of stories about coffee not being good for the health. Elders say they make you very jittery. I won't know coz I'm not a coffee drinker. Is there more than just one study claiming the benefits of coffee?

Is this 6 cups of coffee a day..?! I think that is too much and I don't believe the data. I am sure there's some sort of manipulation there.

Pregnant women can't drink coffee. Why is it unsafe for them and good for everyone else. This is something that I can't reconcile. I'll stick to my 1 - 2 cups a day.

Coffee isn't really my thing. I usually get acid when I have too much of it. There are other factors to consider for living longer anyway.

Many of the compounds coffee has are antioxidants that protect our bodies from oxidation, which involves free radicals that damage molecules in the body.

When you're treating yourself with a cup of coffee, you're not only getting caffeine but a whole bunch of other beneficial compounds, including powerful antioxidants. Good thing I'm a huge coffee fan.

I thought so too until I came across this - https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/03/drinking-coffee-could-help-you-live-longer-study-says.html

Apparently it is true and it's only 3-4 cups and not 6 cups of jo.

I was surprised to but it says"Overall, coffee drinkers were found to be about 10 percent to 15 percent less likely to die than non-coffee drinkers during a decade of follow-up checks."

At the end of the article, there's a paragraph mentioning acrylamide, a cancer causing compound. I still think moderation is key. Who knows which research is more reliable.

I agree. As with everything, listen to your body as well.

Sometimes you don't know what to believe anymore. Studies show coffee is good for you but there are also other studies that say they're bad for you so which is it really?!
