The only country that seems to talk about cultural appropriation is the US and yet they celebrate TartanDay. Don’t tell me everyone wearing tartan that day was Scottish. Is that not cultural appropriation too? I prefer to think of it as appreciation of my culture. Get a grip.

I think anyone should have the ability to make any food as long as they do it well. Good luck to you. I will still be going to the the Chinese restaurant, Mexican restaurant, and Thai restaurant ran and cooked by people who grew up with the cuisine.

If you stopped selling pineapple pizza and did proper margheritas, I swear all Italians would be all the happier.

I cook Asian inspired food ALL THE TIME simply because I love it and wanted to learn how to make it. Part of the beauty of food is the ability to share your creations with others, regardless of where you come from. It’s unfortunate that people are up in arms about this.

Fusions of culture are awesome. I don't know who keeps making such a big deal of"cultural appropriation" but it seems like they're just looking for an excuse to complain about yet another thing in society.

So we expect people to adapt, learn, welcome, include, and participate in different cultures but when someone actually does it's cultural appropriation? What in the actual f#$& people? We have East Asians making pizza, Asians making Italian food, African and Jamaicans making Western food and this comes up cause it's white people?
Take a lesson here...we are evolving. Culture and race are evolving. In 1000 years it will all be mixed as it has been in the passed. Get over it and be open to it. Now shut up and eat your""white people"" Chinese food.

Hilarious, when I was 20, I went to a real Chinese restaurant, only white person in the place, in Chinatown and they made me, in their words, a meal specifically for “white people”. It was amazing!! What’s that called? My Thai family members give me recipes to make and they make Indian Curry, my Cuban Family members do as well and they often make spaghetti!!!!

I've been to a restaurant run by Chinese selling English breakfast. The world taking offence to everything is just daft. Just saying.

I will be trying this new restaurant!
If you cook the food well and it’s tasty. I’m on board!
There are people out there who have developed their passions and can be amazing at anything.

The US is founded on utilizing the best ideas of each culture. The term cultural appropriation being thrown around is in fact a term to push out the melting pot idea and wish to have segregation of cultures and ideas. Good job colleges for starting a trend of segregation that our media now runs with because it has a cool name.

Huh. My favorite Mexican food place in NY was run by Chinese people. Does that count? It was even set up like a Chinese food restaurant, with pictures above the counter and numbered items but was all tacos and tostadas. It feels like only white people get accused of appropriating culture. Sometimes it's merited and sometimes it's just food. Sometimes it's just a hairstyle.
