I work to strengthen progressive power at all levels of government by helping donors – big and small – to support the best and most promising LOCAL community-based organizations in key states – with a focus on youth and communities of color.

I am a community organizer with experience in political, electoral, and issue-based campaigns. I was born and raised in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious family in Milwaukee. I credit my strong belief in civic responsibilities and community-built power with social activism growing up, as well as coming of (political) age post-9/11 in a tight-knit American Muslim community with a history of educational outreach. In my first job after college, working in government affairs, I saw firsthand the consequences of political dis-engagement on the ability of minority communities to see their concerns taken up by elected officials. Identifying a need, I collaborated with community leaders to found Project Mobilize, an organization dedicated to increasing civic participation and representation from politically marginalized communities across Chicago. I directed strategic community outreach for the mayoral campaign in Chicago, mobilizing political support, money, and votes from across Middle Eastern, Asian, Arab, and Muslim American communities. More recently, I was campaign manager for a state representative race in Chicago and the second most diverse district in the country for a grassroots Asian American and Muslim American candidate. I am passionate about creating the authentic relationships and mutual investments between diverse communities that will be essential in the next 30 years as the U.S. becomes a minority-majority country. I firmly believe this job will be rooted in community organizing and driven by young people: paving the way for future generations to keep the baton moving forward.

Do you think you have lived a fulfilled life?

No. I feel like I haven't accomplished anything in my life yet and that there are so many things I can do with my life.

I know what you mean! I feel the same way. I feel my life has no purpose or drive.

I think once we reach that stage then our lives would be over, we wouldn't be alive so as long as we are still alive, we still have a lot more to live out

The great part is knowing that you are living life on your terms and doing what makes you happy. Nothing more liberating and fulfilling than that for me personally

Everything is going great right now but I don't think I have lived fully yet. There are so many things that I want to do.

Not yet. I may not be even half way on my journey. I still have a lot to learn to be able to live with fulfillment.

I would like to think so. I help and give back to the community whenever I could. I am devoted to my family. Am I missing something?

I am not living a fulfilled life because I am an emotional fool so I am not able to make the right decision.
