I just want to drink wine and rescue dogs.

I have been working with rescue dogs for the past three years where I have gained experience with dogs of all different size and breed. I attended Catch Canine Trainers Academy to obtain a better knowledge of dog behavior and is a certified pet dog trainer (CPDT). I am also recognized by the AKC to administer the Canine Good Citizen Test. Working with rescue dogs has allowed me to work with a wide range of behavior problem dogs, puppies, older dogs, and learned that motivation and patience are some of the most important roles in training a dog

No matter how much you love your dog (and we know you love them a lot), you have to admit that finding hair on your couches and blankets isn’t your favorite thing. Shed Defender, which appeared on Shark Tank in 2018, will save your home from being covered in unwelcome dog hair.

The Shed Defender is made of a breathable athletic mesh fabric with four-way stretch and is available in a range of sizes: mini, extra-extra small, extra small, small, medium, large, extra large, and extra-extra large. It helps keep dog hair off your furniture, keeps your pup warm, and reduces exposure to allergens.

A really STUPID idea. I can see using it for allergies but how hot will your pet get wearing this? If you can’t handle the natural shedding, why do you have a dog to begin with?

It’s a breathable mesh fabric. As with anything, there will be dogs who tolerate it well and others that don’t.
Calm down. Dog owners know shedding comes with the dog and that’s perfectly fine. No one said anyone couldn’t “handle” the shedding. However, if someone came up with a way to reduce it, it might be worth trying. One less dust pan full is still less.
This is really a non-issue. Let them sell their product and just keep scrolling.

FYI - our two dogs, golden retriever and border collie, got their legs got caught up in the slick material, even though it was snugly and properly fitted, It trapped and dislocated/injured their leg and hip, although good for cutting down on shedding, it can injure your pet.

I think my dog might like it. He is usually cold and it would be good for quick trips in the car.

Dogs need to shed for various reasons. If they are cold they will adapt. I had my golden shaved a couple of years ago and never had a dog that really shed or needed trims. The breeder lived in our neighborhood and when he saw Asia, he like you can’t do that. They have that 2nd layers to prevent sunburn and to help keep them cool. Just as in winter they will grow a second layer as thick as needed for the temperature. Brushing every day is both beneficial to the dog and owner. Great bonding. Back to the breeder, he didn’t mention it to me because he knew that I had grown up with dogs and assumed we knew.

I could never cover up my beautiful fur babies fur!

When I got my first German Shepherd in ‘99, I put one of these on her. She wouldn’t even move and gave me the angriest look ever. It made her super hot. My boss’s administrative assistant had German Shepherds and educated me on why this was bad. Even having them shaved down messes up the way their hair grows to keep them cool. Just get a Furminator and spend some $ on a really good vacuum. Bathe them about every 8 weeks.
