Fashion Rules the Royal Family Follows

Drop file here to send
Some of these rules are -
1. Queen Elizabeth prefers dresses and skirts over pants
2. Wedding dresses need the Queen's approval.
3. Colorful nail polish isn't allowed.
4. Not just anyone can wear a tiara.
5. The Queen uses her handbags to send secret messages.
6. Clutches had another purpose—such as hiding cleavage.
7. Clutches are also used to avoid shaking hands.
8. The Queen wears bright clothing — but not because she loves color.
9. The Queen wears hats due to an old tradition.
10. Royals are expected to travel with a black ensemble on hand.
11. Prince George only wears shorts.
12. Do NOT wear wedge shoes around the Queen.
13. Speaking of shoes, the Queen reportedly hires someone to break hers in.
14. Weighted hems are a common trick to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.
15. Pantyhose is *highly* suggested, although not required.

Yes of course. The royal family itself, wherever it is, is a symbol of upper class, so it is reasonable that it embodies the traditions and the “posh” stuff. I will try to answer this question from two perspectives. One is the traditional protocols that we ordinary people don’t really know about or don’t need to obey. The other is some restrictions put on them by the government because of their special status.

The Royals are not allowed to have any social media accounts like twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. That’s why Meghan Markle had to delete all her social media accounts before her marriage. [There’s an Instagram account of Kensington Palace where pictures of the Royals mainly that of Prince William, Prince Harry and Duchess Kate are posted] . Moreover, they are not allowed to click selfies (at least in public) because as a Royal, you must project yourself with grace !! Taking a selfie definitely does not promote grace. :)

The Royals are not allowed to give autographs because of the risk of it being forged.

If the Queen moves her purse to the right arm, she is done talking. This is a secret indication to her staffs when she wishes to end a conversation.

Hahaha I wish I can do that too and the other person would know I want to stop talking to them!

If I had a little boy I wouldn’t want him to only wear shorts, especially in colder weather. I think you need to be reasonable when it comes to children’s clothes, even when you’re royalty.

Is it weird that I dress according to royal standards already? I wear stockings, wear neutral polish, love to wear gloves if I can, all my dresses are knee length or longer and heels are my favorite, plus I have the habit of using my hand to cover my “cleavage” when I wear a sleeveless dress lol. I’m weird. I know.

Sounds like they do a lot of this because of the Queen's preferences. Hopefully they update their rules soon here. Seems a little... I don't know, strict? Unnecessary? Frivolous? Controlling?

I think other European royal don't have such rules, like Danish royal for example, and for me, they just like ordinary rich family, not royal. UK is the best.

Not wearing my beautiful nail polishes would be impossible. And wearing a coat all day long, even when it's hot, is just something I wouldn't do. I'd faint! Lol
