Always love your family, no matter what. Never let a disagreement tear you apart - Love them always

I’m a self-taught hardware and software technician and proud stay at home Dad. I take care of my two little blessings while their mother pursues her dream job – working her way up the corporate ladder. Despite being the only stay at home Dad I know, I’ve never had any negative encounters, everyone has always been supportive. I think people find it refreshing, seeing something different that challenges the norm. One thing I struggle with is getting lost in the work I'm doing and then realise I have to fetch the kids from school. I'm the kind of guy who will just keep going with a project, I like to get things done, and having to stop and pack up until another time can be very frustrating. I’ve had to come to terms with it though, my kids come first.

How do you deal with stress?

I stay away from people who stress me out! I limit my time with them as much as I can.

If the source of my stress is work, I resign and find a new one if nothing ever changes or if it doesn't get better. If it's a person, I talk to them and if nothing changed too, I would stay away from that person as well.

Fortunately, we have a company psychologist so I always schedule a session with Doc when it becomes overwhelming. It's great because we discuss both work and personal stressors because they are equally important and impact on your overall wellbeing

All work and no play is a recipe for burnout. I try to find a balance between work, family life, social activities, daily responsibilities and my personal downtime.

Stress is inevitable, It goes in and out of our lives on a regular basis and it is different for everybody. For me, I first try to track the source and then I think about what I can control to reduce the stress. I always try to look at the big picture too and it motivates me to get rid of it fast.

I keep quiet and pray. I think about the blessings more than my disappointments. That way my stress will go away.

Walking on the beach is one way to destress. Feeling the wind and breathe the sea breeze calms my mind.
