I have been teaching art for 7 years. Prior to this, I was a Program Director for a local art studio and a curriculum creator for an international kids organization. I am passionate about art education and believe strongly in teaching both children and adults the skills that can enable them to draw and paint realistically. I hold a MA in Art education and a BFA in Visual and Performing Arts. Besides creating art and teaching art, I enjoy visiting museums. I love traveling abroad and photographing the sites. I am an active person, hiking with my pups, paddle boarding, without my pups, or just going to the gym. I also enjoy being a spectator to my favorite sports and teams which leads me to my favorite quote, by the great NC State Basketball coach, Jimmy V “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.”

Encourage healthy eating habits. Provide plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole-grain products.

Avoid serving them processed food and don't let them eat in fast food. Fries and burgers are not healthy for us, especially for kids.

I give them healthy food like fruits and veggies. Their snack is fruits. I don't allow the to eat sugary food.

Kids have to be active. It's up to the parents to encourage a healthy lifestyle of staying active and healthy eating.

I was taught by my parents to eat veggies when I was a kid so obesity has not been my problem.

At a young age, I already portion the food of my kids, that way, they don't overeat and develop good eating habit.

I was a fat kid and my mom asked me to watch what I eat. I had to cut back on fast food definitely and more protein and vegetables and lots of exercise.

Make favorite dishes healthier. Some of your favorite recipes can be healthier with a few changes. You can also try some new heart-healthy dishes that might just become favorites too.

We should advice the kids to have a healthy diet. Encourage them to eat vegetables and do some outdoor activities.

I did my best to make them eat vegetables and fruits when they are young, around 2 years old. I never had a problem with their diet because it became their habit to snack fruits. They were also active in playing outdoors, in our backyard or at the park whenever their father was free from work.

I have a strict diet even when I was a kid. I don't eat too sugary food like donuts, lollipops and the likes.

You prevent it by being good role models. It's important that the kids see you living healthy so they will be encouraged to do the same.
