On the other hand, the recent scandal with Lori Loughlin and her daughters can prove that a brain may not develop no matter how much money you have and throw at them. No extreme is healthy.

So what about Ben Carson? Very talented and pioneer surgeon who had a very poor upbringing.
I think that hardships and limited resources can actually force us to be more creative and efficient with the little we have.

Reality may be harsh, rude, and have all odds against, but, that doesnt necesary have to limit your life. Be brave, have faith and stay positive. Good desitions, Studying and Hard Work pays off in the long run. In the meanwhile, its mandatory, not optional, to enjoy life to the fullest, with a positive attitude. Nobody can steal happiness from you, it's your born right, is your inner peace, and always remember that you are the owner of your own mind, why would you think that what others say or think, is"true", and should apply to your personal experience. The only"true" thing is what you think is true.

Give the family not more money...give them jobs that can sustain them...train them...give them money thats already in place and makes them dependent...give a man a fish they eat for a day teach them to fish they eat for a life time.

Of course it does. Income determines quality of life as in diet, health care, adequate clothing, a safe clean living environment, etc. The deduction is a matter of common sense.

Positive idea but not realistic. Money should only be used for the family such as for schooling and nutrition; not on anything they want.

This research is important. I think the idea of more money for new mothers is a fantastic idea.
But how are these doctors proving causation? Low brain function parents could be causing both their own poverty and the low brain functions of their kids.

This is utter BS... My hub and I came up from poverty, I had a single mother who provided for 2 kids in 1 bed apartment and we now own our own home and I am able to stay home with all 3 of my kids bc my hub now makes enough so I can... It took us 9 yrs to build this life and I wouldn't change anything. I am proud of my mother and ourselves...having not teaches you gratitude and work ethic.

We were poor for a good part of my sons childhood but as he says we always had books, music, pets and love all fostered compassion, curiosity, joy and learning. A library card, a radio and a box of stray kittens can do wonders in a child's life. I remember their excitement when we finally got a color TV to watch nature shows on. You don't have to be poor in spirit just because you are broke. We had all the kids over to paint with watercolors on computer paper my boss gave me before it was thrown out and ate ramen noodles and apples I would get for half price at closing time at the farm market. Some of the best times I remember.

Errr...so let me get this straight...kids growing up in poorer households tend to be less intelligent...it seems to me that people with people with lower intelligence would tend to earn less than those more intelligent and that parents of lower intelligence would tend not to provide their children with the most stimulating environment...I think there is somewhat of a flawed premise here...

The first ever study on how capitalism literally subjects access to the earth and everything humans like, to an arbitrary dollar amount.
