Start taking control of your online presence by erasing personal information and covering up internet footprints is challenging with these steps:
1. Search yourself on Google.
2. Delete your social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. These sites often have lots of information on you.
3. Contact webmasters if you see information that’s been published about you online like a news article or blog, you’ll need to contact the webmaster in charge of the website. 4. Remove yourself from data collection sites.

Are you aware that your data is being leaked? Would you delete your social media to have your information secure? What do you do to protect your information?

I don't think I would ever delete myself from the internet. It's a vital part of my business and I have firewalls and anti-viruses to protect me. I make sure that I also have a secure connection all the time.

Websites that store confidential data, such as an online bank site, need to use strong passwords. Also, it is highly recommended that you use a different password for each website that requires a login. If you need help remembering your passwords, consider using a password manager.

You may never be able to completely erase your digital footprint, since so much is already out there about pretty much everyone. However, there are ways for you to reduce the amount of info out there about you, and in some cases, remove yourself from certain databases.

I don't think you can ever delete yourself from the internet unless you don't use it at all.

This is just a marketing article from Abine.com. In the article, it says the site will 'go back every few months to check that you aren't re-added to the sites'. It just means that once you go online, you won't be able to go offline anymore. The internet is just too wide to be able to police.

Deseat.me is an internet service which allows you to take a look at all websites you’ve ever created an account with and will give you the option to delete said account or unsubscribe from that site.

Thanks for the article. Read it and my suspicions were confirmed, it's not yet the real deal. It'll be difficult to totally erase your trace on the web.

Even if you haven’t downloaded an app in years, Apple, Facebook or Google still possesses a lot of private information, along with so many other virtual services. If you really want to terminate your Internet presence, you’ll want to eliminate these accounts, especially the ones you don’t use anymore.

It is almost impossible to delete yourself from the world wide web totally. So what I do is to regularly check my financial accounts to make sure that there aren't any fraudulent charges.
