I'm interested in meaningful discussion
My background is in software development, with a BSE/MSE in Computer Science. I previously worked as a software engineer at some of the biggest international software companies In addition to running my own IT firm, I consult with tech companies on their engineering hiring process and with start-ups to help them through acquisition interviews.

Critics of the gender pay gap argument say it all comes down to choice — women choose to take time out of the workforce to raise a family, for example, or choose to work in nursing rather than finance.
Do you really think that gender pay gap exists?

There is no gender pay gap, there is a personal choices pay gap.

Wow, an article from news.com.au that isn’t about man bashing or how tough women have it? How refreshing.

The issue is that women are no good at Math or doing physical dangerous work, which is where most high paying jobs are and where the % of men is over 70%. Engineering - high salary, mostly men. FIFO machine operations - high salary, mostly men. Childcare workers - low salary, 100% women

Men can't go into childcare without being seen as suspicious or judged as possibly being a pedophile. Hence why men aren't doing it anymore.

Ummm... according to the article posted yesterday, they also looked at gaps within industries and similar roles within those industries. Not just across the work force as a whole.
I want a job because I’m better. Picking a woman because of their gender does not promote equality.

I've been at my job three and a half years and get paid the exact same as a guy that got employed 6 months ago, similar age and I had triple the experience on starting than he did, currently do more than double the work that he does plus have more responsibilities in the office. Tell me again that the wage Gap isn't real?

It's not real. It's just life. I get paid less than a female colleague I work with because she negotiated a better deal than me... and I'm ok with it because the boss scrutinizes her more than me.
