Fundraising is a wonderful opportunity to create more good in the world, and I am always thrilled to see the projects that are created or sustained as a result.

I’ve been working for small and large charities for over 15 years, and in that time I have raised more than £5million in trust and statutory income. I am currently building partnerships in the voluntary sector to ensure their contribution is optimised and valued. Five years of charity management has equipped me with incredibly valuable experience of the joys and challenges faced by CEOs and trustees in the voluntary sector every day. I love working with small charities and admire the creativity, energy and resilience of the people who help them to thrive. I particularly enjoy building other people’s skills in fundraising, aiming to leave each organisation I work with more able and confident than they were before.

What a fantastic idea. If restaurants and bakeries and grocery stores would do this with their food we could end hungry quick.

I always hoped that all restaurants would do something good with leftover and unused food.

Kids have enough to worry about. Hunger shouldn’t be one of them. I truly believe it will make a difference in their everyday lives and their future to take that worry away.

The food at my kid’s school is almost inedible and should be a considered a punishment to eat it! They’ve also attended several different schools over the years and not one of them has had quality food that’s not mystery meat. Hopefully that’s not the case but...”perfectly good” yeah right.

Our school has a community desk. Anything in their lunch that they don’t want is free to take by others.

The 11 school cafeterias I know do not have a significant leftovers . They make lunch based on attendance that day. What little there is gets frozen and reserved at a later date.
I do not think sending perishable foods with little kids is a good thing.
Non-perishable easy to open foods that do not have to be heated or cooked are best especially for grade school kids.
If done does the child have access to a refrigerator/ freezer and a microwave or stove.
