Is tipping in restaurants justified?

I worked at a restaurant before so I know how hard it is. If I get good service, I don't hesitate to leave a good tip.

Some restaurants charge a lot for the food already. I don't see why I have to leave a tip unless the service was excellent.

Tipping is a courtesy. If you received good service, might as well leave the server something for their efforts.

Yeah. I don't even bother leaving a tip for restaurants with already service charge on the receipt.

I agree! If they are going to put a minimum %, they should just include it in the bill and rename to service charge instead of a tip.

It's the least you can do to help the servers. They work hard to give you the best service.
