Politics are at best a necessary evil. They exist not as an end in themselves, but as a means of strengthening and uniting the civic ties that bind us as a people and a nation.
I am a retired political analyst and media commentator, both in the print and electronic media. Nowadays, I regularly contribute to columns and features by various publications, both nationally and internationally. During my time as a political analyst, I conducted extensive research into policies and proposed legislation. What I liked most about my job was the fact that no two days were the same, it was a great mix of office-based work, field work and occasional travel. Now that I have a bit more time to myself, I spend my free time with my children and grandchildren.

Thanks to Kim for all she has done & doing to shed a light on prison reform & injustice!clapping handsclapping handsclapping handsclapping hands
I was surprised to hear that Kim K has taken on this issue and I can't say that I'm a huge fan, but I am happy to see her using her platform in such a positive way.
So instead of working with the actual detainees and working at a community level she just goes directly to the white house? Must be nice to be famous and not have to get your hands dirty. What she is doing is commendable but I hate the way she is doing it.

Why are you hating it? I’m by no means a fan, but I think it’s fantastic that she’s using her influence this way.
Kim isn’t the first to speak out and she’s not the only person putting in hard work, I totally understand that... but she’s using her privilege and status to help other people and those people will benefit. That’s still good work. This can lead to a positive outcome for many people. If one person’s life is improved, let’s celebrate that and send that person good vibes.

Or is she? I guess we'll have to watch and see.
I appreciate that. It will help many.
Well and good but how about a program for struggling veterans?
I will support her efforts and all of us should think about our country. And we need many better person who will lead our country

I agree that all that can be done for vets should be, however its extremely difficult for ex cons to even get an interview for a job, and those they can get don't pay enough to support them. If we want the recidivism rate to change we have to make changes that will allow them a real choice other than going back to crime. They can't get food stamps or housing after prison and are expected to live on 7 bucks an hour at a job that only gives them 20 hours a week. But makes their schedule so erratic that they can't even get a second job.
Well good for her.
