A man explained how he called off his wedding because his fiancée almost accidentally killed his dog. The woman had got"wasted" with her friends at her bachelorette party and allowed the dog to ingest"large amounts of alcohol and chocolate edibles." The dog survived, but the man said he was so"disgusted" he couldn't look at her let alone marry her.

The man also realised the incident was just the final example of an ongoing issue which made him see he didn't want to marry her.

Absolutely agree with him. Pets are like children - there's no down time. You have to be vigilant and respectful ALL the time. Good on you, mate. If she loved that dog, there's no way this would've happened.

He’s right in calling the wedding off. It’s not about the dog or anything else. It’s the realization that finally sinked in him that the girlfriend is negligent and irresponsible. He’s right in moving on now without her rather than regret later, because the girl is obviously like a ticking bomb, anytime it will explode due to her negligence. And he doesn’t want to be around her when that happen.

Seems as though there is more to it than just the dog. Better to end it now.

Well, I'm a dog-lover.
Not condoning her behaviour bit I still think he's a bit too harsh on punishing the girl.
Unless of course he's looking for an excuse not to marry.

He is CORRECT! Why would you MARRY someone when you are feeling bad about it? That is a huge and mostly permanent step. He was having other concerns and this just happened to be the final straw. Good for him.
