By host - daisy-lawson
As entrepreneurs, we all have something to prove. To those who doubt us, to those who question us, heck, even to ourselves. Mark Drager and Evan Carmichael get together each week for the Something to Prove Podcast to discuss the challenges that hold business owners back, share real-world stories, answer listener questions, and banter back and forth like an old married couple - all in the effort to help listeners prove that they have what it takes to make it happen.
This discussion is set to be extendable. After it expires, the content will remain, but all guests will be removed. After that if any guests decide to join it, more days will be added to the discussion

Asking help, hanging out with people better than you and networking is few of the most important traits for success. That's why it says people are your greatest assets.

I feel like a lot of millennial entrepreneurs feel torn between asking for help, being real, and maintaining the “fake it til you make it”. Awareness of maintaining the brand image and appearance of success because success is sexy/attractive to potential investors, customers, family and friends.

The biggest flattering in life is to see your gifts(coaching or material) being used by the person you gave it to.

I actually believe EVERYTHING in a sense is a business transaction. Like you said, Evan- the feelings of enjoyment from helping someone IS the"gift in return" for the help. Sometimes a reciprocation isn't a"payment", it's just a symbol of appreciation. Also, selfishness to someone like me, who has to battle the urge to help others before I take care of my own needs, is a virtue, as in the words of Aldous Huxley,"...one cannot be a positive contribution to that society til one is fulfilled in oneself." Or, Coolio-"You can't help me if you can't help yourself."

To fulfil self is to be capable of helping others. So it may be that some have a need to reciprocate in a measurable manner for their own fulfilment. But that's not the other party's problem to be required to allow a reciprocation. They need comes from within and is one's own lack of fulfilment, I suppose.

It's all about getting balance...and not really chosing one path or the other. Different things work for different people. Mark's way of thanking is by giving back. And it's all good.
