Your now is not your forever.

Australia became my home in 1996 after finishing my training as a Registered Nurse in Denmark. Before moving to the Central Coast I worked as an oncology nurse specialist. I have worked in general practice as a practice nurse since 2002 and enjoy being involved in preventative health practices, health and families. The opportunity to do a masters of Mental Health Nursing and become a credentialed mental health nurse presented itself. Having brought up 3 children of my own, I have developed a passion for working with teenagers and adolescents and this age group has become my main area of expertise. Adults, especially the elderly, and relationships (including sex-therapy) are my secondary areas of expertise.

Narcissists all act in similar ways.
They tend to follow the same pattern in relationships — idealize, devalue, discard.
They also have a certain way of talking.
Here are some of the things narcissists are likely to say in relationships, and in what stages to expect them.

How do you know when you’re dealing with a narcissist? How do you deal with them?

When I don't get to say more than a few words on our first date, I don't give him a second date, even if he is handsome and well-off. I know for sure that he is a narcissist.

I won't date a narcissist! I'd probably even leave before the date is over. Can't stand them!

Firstly, they would act being disinterested in your talks. However if they ever find it interesting enough to interject their thoughts, good chances are that it would be towards pessimism.

There has been a few instances wherein I got sucked into this relationship. They just say the sweetest things and make you feel so good. Who wouldn't want to hear that they are the one who lights up someone else's life? But yeah, that stage doesn't last that long.

Yes, that is the idealization stage. It is very important to spot a narcissist early on so that you don't go down a spiral path with them.

Ugh, I hate narcissists the most, more than a cheater! I've been with both and the narcissist just broke me down emotionally. It got really bad that I had to seek counseling in order to overcome my fear of getting into another relationship.
