Stuck in a negative thought loop? Wish small, everyday stressors didn’t affect you so much? Dr. Rick Hanson discusses his new book,"Resilient," and the amazing neuroscience that will help you build inner strength to face all life’s challenges.

Building on his popular books, “Hardwiring Happiness” and “Buddha’s Brain,” Rick’s newest addition provides practical ways to get unstuck from negativity and grow into a more grateful, compassionate, and resilient human being.

Brain vs Mind. This is so interesting. Neuroscience is fascinating. I agree it's very important to already have the tools in your"backpack" before we are faced with the obstacles. Our mind is powerful and we have powerful capabilities with Inner- resilience.

So glad to have learnt about our brains ‘negativity bias’ because it explains why we have so much anxiety.

For me, I loved the idea of staying with positive insights and responses to feel it in your body, reinforce it to create the memory and flag it in your brain as a keeper. That's brilliant.

This is a great topic! Knowing how to use the mind to design our lives and experiences is the ultimate form of freedom. It's empowering to know that we don't have to be stressed out. We can build up and tap into our inner-resilience. We can go within, make some adjustments to our framing (inner-story), and create a more peaceful life experience. This takes practice, so you have to be deliberate. But it's worth it because this type of work always pays off.

This practice of focusing on anything good we're experiencing and growing it inside, so we have it more available any time later, is the principle of state anchoring from NLP. I use it myself (and with clients). So powerful, and yes, transformative over time... Haven't thought about it in the sense of positively changing the brain but of course it is! Love this
