If it can help to lessen or remove the most dangerous weapons that took life of many, why not.
What can you say about this gun buyback program in New Zealand?

Good luck New Zealand. Get ready for the big chilon!
Gun buybacks only work to disarm law abiding citizens. Criminals will still be armed.

Toughest guns law... private sales still allowed with zero fingerprinting ... yeppo such gooooooood control. It's hilarious seeing people debate with made up feelings as fact.
It will be the end of New Zealand.
It will be the end of New Zealand.
Doubt it.
It will be the end of New Zealand.
New Zealanders will not be allowed to shoot each other so it's the end of New Zealand. Can you explain where the fu*k you got that analogy from?

I can assure you they're going to be fine. In fact you can still legally own guns there that maybe aren't as easy to use but are just as deadly. This law change is weak and a PR stunt to make people feel better.
Look at all the clueless Americans coming here to criticise New Zealand's gun buyback program! Listen, if you don't like it, stay in your country and build a wall to keep yourself in! Don't visit New Zealand. It's that simple. Something bad happened in their country and at least they're doing all they can to make sure it never happens again! Can't say the same about American lawmakers despite thousands dying each year to gun violence!

Amen. Too many Americans care about their guns more than their children!

Spot on. Sincerely, American with common sense.
If a buyback is mandatory, it's not a buyback. It's confiscation.
