Never worry what other people think of you, because no one ever thinks of you.

Making a career out of shuffling words about so they look pretty always seemed like an outlandish goal to me, but I'm delighted that I somehow managed to pull it off. My primary role is to develop concepts, script and pitch, and write entertaining articles – befuddling the crew with my incessant supply of kooky shirts has also become a bit of a personal task for me. A film and drama graduate from the University of Kent, I am at home both behind and in front of the camera, having written and acted for numerous films and plays. I also spent a year abroad studying at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and mowing down pedestrians on my bicycle (accidentally.) When I am not plucking abstruse thoughts from my head and attempting to compose them into fathomable screenplays, I can usually be found clocking up some serious Netflix hours, eating spaghetti straight from the tin, or watching people fall off things on YouTube.

SBS World Movies will be a celebration of the diversity of global cinema with at least half the titles on the channel in a language other than English, and featuring everything from European art-house films to the best of Bollywood cinema, romantic comedies to anime, award-winning favourites, acclaimed new releases, and much more.

SBS leading the way as ever. Congratulations and sincerest thanks for all that you've done and continue to do to make Australia a country worth calling home when so little about its social and political culture does. I watched Curse of the Golden Flower utterly spellbound by Yimou's fabulous epic. Thank you again.

Great! I remember when SBS was basically world movies. Then it changed and the movies all but disappeared. Still a good TV channel, but I have missed the great movies. Glad they're returning.
