It depends, if it's a small business then nepotism is okay but once you take the business public, I think nepotism should be illegal unless they have worked from the bottom up for a certain number of years.

In business, who you know matters. I don't think you can stop nepotism. It happens, deal with it!

It's usually family members who are in top positions of big corporations so I don't think nepotism can actually be declared illegal especially if it's family owned.

That is so true but you're not really helping your relatives if you keep giving them hand outs.

That can cause conflict inside the organization. Especially if they are getting higher pay than other staff.

Most companies that I know is that they are prohibiting hiring people who are related to their existing employees.

You are being subjective if you will do that. Using your power to have your family be part of the company you are working for is a bad idea. But if it is a family business, it is okay. It is normal to have your kids, siblings, and other relatives to be part of it.

Hiring relatives should not be illegal. Not if you're in the private sector.

Hiring relatives is easy and can lead to greater trust if they get along and share a common purpose.

This is going to depend if you are working in a private company, your position and functions. Hiring a member of your family if it is not a company owned by you will create an issue to other workers. But if you are objectively hire your relatives because you own the company and you trust them, it is okay.
