Think outside the trash, RECYCLE!

I started Up Shift Recycling in 2010 and has grown it to one of the largest recyclers of electronic waste. A “recovering lawyer”, I am a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in a combined LL.B. and Honours Business Administration. My goal is to build a great international organization that is the company of choice for local, national and international: e-waste collection; IT value recovery; data destruction; useable parts and item trading; end-of-life e-waste processing; and e-scrap trading services. When not recycling electronics (which doesn’t happen often), I can be found exploring the world with my husband and daughter.

Not all of us have the opportunity to place solar panels on the roof. However, the window is the decision.  Smart Window Blinds technology allows us to maximize advantages of the blinds and even remotely control them and save energy using the power of the sun. Thus, each of us can take a step forward and reduce CO2 emissions into the environment.

Thank you. All of technology starts out to be expensive, but after a few wealthy people pave the way, prices come down, and we will eventually be able to afford this type of technology.

I've had these installed and they are absolutely amazing. At night time, I angle them to catch the moonlight and this actually helps me save 85% off my energy bill.

How wonderful it must be to have the money to afford these contraptions in the first place :-/ Clever though.

I love solar power but I wouldn’t want my blinds to close during the day.

I love how they say"can be sold back to the electric company". Good luck getting any good amount of money from it. Lol. You won't get near what you're expecting. Currently, Ontario homeowners are selling solar power to the grid at a guaranteed rate of $0.39 per kwh, and then buying back energy for personal use at substantially lower market rate of about $0.12 per kWh. As a sample case, a homeowner may pay $35,000 to fit up the roof with 40 250-watt solar panels.Mar 5, 2015.

I was waiting for this. I knew it would be invented. I'd rather do this than solar panels on roof because it's not so obvious.

Great concept, and a great product, however will it’s use become widespread?
