I think there should be both. One for joint expenses and one for your personal use. It would reduce conflicts that can come from money.

Separate accounts. We can share the expenses but it's better if we keep our own money separately. Fewer issues that way.

It's always great to have your own things and assets. Perhaps start a joint account if you're married and want to save up for a home or children's education

I'd rather keep things seperate to avoid fights and arguments, imagine someone monitoring every little financial move of mine. No thanks

I totally agree. This is similar to our setup at home. It prevents us from fighting over money.

We share a joint account and we keep track of all the expenses. It is for our future so might as well share it.

I agree! You definitely need one joint account for any joint expenditures like travel, utilities and groceries.

It would be better if you have separate bank accounts. You'll never know what could happen once the relationship goes south. Better be safe than sorry!

Separate account is more practical I guess. Both of you can see who saves more. It's like a competition and one doing the best that he or she can to beat you. winking face with tongue

I agree. You can have both but you definitely need a joint account for emergencies.

It would be better to have a joint account with your partner.

A joint account is okay with me.

My partner and I have separate accounts. We don't like to mind each others' financial business. We just identified who will take care of which expense and that's it.
