I always pray for God to always let me have enough of the inner child in me so that I can always see the wonder of all things and have the hope in all things

Wish I had superpowers. There's a whole bunch of people I want to wipe off from face of the earth.

Great message, sometimes I forget this.
I stand in awe every moment I spend with my grandchildren and see the amazement they see in an everyday day. Their excitement with the littlest things warms my heart ♥️!

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” - Jesus

It's definitely true that we often lose the optimism and true happiness we once had when we were young. To be reminded by a story like this helps us see that we DO have that in us. It isn't lost. We just have to look back, find it again, embrace it, and purposefully learn how to live life this way again. GREAT REMINDER! Thank you!

This is very inspiring- on the surface. But we all must remember that not EVERY child has superpowers. Those children born into poverty, or in countries undergoing famine, or countries where their parents have fled to seek asylum, only to be taken away from their parents at the border.....

Very interesting. When the children in the class made fun of the grandmother, teachers ans parents, if they were aware, should have interceded and taught them to behave differently. Compassion is something that can be taught by adults who are important in the child's life. As for then reaction to the relationship between the central character and Christina, I think it is sometimes best not to do things publicly in an intolerant world. It might have been better if they had confined the expressions of affection to the home or other safe places. The world is a cruel place. I don't think it is about to change. As for the little , frail, old lady who embarrassed her granddaughter, as a frail, little old lady with dark hair who can also be an embarrassment to people who know me, I saw myself in this story and wondered, how does the one who can not measure up deal with her inadequacy. in not being able to be what society demands? Despite the problems in this girl's life, being"different", and not being completely accepted by her peers, I think she was very fortunate to have deep and loving relationships with the adult members of her family, even if she was at times ashamed of them. The children who were cruel might not have been as lucky. Their homes may have been devoid of real love.
