Would Trump's New Drug Rebate Rule Help You?

The Trump Administration has proposed a major change in the way drugs are priced for Medicare beneficiaries. The new rules would upend the current complex and opaque pricing system for pharmaceuticals, lower prices for users of some costly drugs (though not others), and raise Medicare Part D premiums for everyone.

Do you agree that this will help people? Why or why not?

No, it wouldn't help me. Insurance should pay for any drug a physician prescribes for a patient. And with a co-pay that the patient can afford.

It will help if it will reduce the cost of my medicine. How would premium related to drugs ? Are Pharmaceuticals owned by the Insurance companies or vise versa? Is this a ring?

My medicare advantage plan already charges a deductible in addition to copays. My sister is going bankrupt because of insulin prices. We need to rollback prices, freeze them, and charge a little higher copays, maybe?

Medicare needs to be allowed to negotiate drug prices just as VA does. You can bet Trump's plan is designed to reward pharmaceutical companies.

I am sure Trump got advice from some CEOs who would benefit from this. I am sure the higher premiums would more than offset what is covered.

Do you expect the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make it any better for consumers. He was a CEO of a pharmaceutical business. Trump put the fox in the hen house. Every cabinet secretary that should be protecting us has ties to the industry that they are responsible for.

Same old thing. Not much if any savings. Give with one hand take away with the other. Get rid of the lawn on the books that does not allow the government to negotiate prices with the drug companies.

Dump Trump, he doesn't care about the American people. He doesn't know what it feels like to not have food, to not have medical insurance, to not be able to afford prescription drugs, to not have enough money and live pay check to paycheck. He only cares about himself, money and power is all he seeks. Egotistic maniac, if only he could live the life of the poor, the ill and the unfortunate!!

Higher premiums mean the costs remain the same but the kickbacks get bigger.

Raising premiums is BS. Most elderly on Medicare are fine with generic drugs. They can't afford higher premiums. You people are real rocket scientists!
