It's not safe! I would walk him to school even if the school was nearby.

IMO, Never let your child under age of 10 walk alone to school.

First, I train my child about road crossing, defend himself after that I will let him walk alone to the school.

I don't think so. At least, Ppobably not until they are in senior high school.

No, I will never let my child walk alone. I have to make sure that he is safe all the time. That's why I am his father to protect him from any harm. What if there's a crazy man in the street and make fun of him? What if there's a rushing car towards him? I cannot imagine my kid be hurt that way just because I have been so lax that he will be okay and let him walk alone to school.

I agree. I will never be at peace knowing that my kid is walking alone in the street. Though I want my kid to be independent but not that way.

No way! What if something bad happens? I'd never be able to live with that.

That is the last thing that I will make my future children do.

For Christ's sake, what would I do that? There's no safe place anymore for anyone, especially for children.

We live near the school so why not? It'll teach him to be independent.

As parents, it is normal for us to worry about our children but sometimes we have to let them do things on their own. If the school is just nearby, it is okay to let them walk by themselves and if your neighborhood is secure and safe from kidnappers or crimes then I guess it's just fine.

No, I could never unless we live near the school. There's so many things that can go wrong from the house to school and having easy access to news does not really help as well.
