Critical thinking, attention to detail and sound judgment are some of my most treasured and celebrated characteritsics

I am Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Clinical Informatics. Upon completing my anesthesiology residency and research fellowship in medical device informatics, I tenured as a tutor and assistant lecturer before becoming an executive of a medical device company. In 2016, I founded a research program to promote innovation in patient safety and clinical care by leading the adoption of safe, secure, patient-centric integrated clinical environments. It, along with all the collaborators, has been recognized by multiple awards, including an award for Healthcare Innovation. In my spare time, I enjoy being with family and reading up on the latest developments in the medical field.

Euthanasia is illegal in the US despite the many Americans that support it. Proponents say the terminally ill should be able to end their lives in the time and place of their choosing.

Euthanasia has been a controversial topic but for those who support it, it is the humane thing to do. Others say legalizing euthanasia means abandoning people to their worst fears. According to Gallup, 73 percent of all Americans favor making euthanasia available to the terminally ill.

If someone is of sound mind and know they're dying, shouldn't they be able to choose the time and manner in which they die? Would you rather die if you're terminally ill? What are your thoughts on the topic?

Actively ending a life, no matter how frail a person is, is immoral. Some patients might be pushed to die early for the convenience of others.

I don’t think ill patients should be allowed to die on their own terms. There is a purpose for all the suffering we experience.

I would like to die on my own terms. I don't want to suffer too long and I don't want to inconvenience my family.

Nobody wants to have a slow and painful death. I'd rather die with dignity.

It doesn’t matter how a person is. He/she may be sick or paralyzed but they don’t have any right to kill themselves.

A lot of people would agree with this.

It is a right of a terminally ill person to end their life, in my opinion. If the patient agrees with their families, then the doctors can end the patient’s life because it is the humane thing to do.

It is their life. When they die should be their business and if they want to choose when they die, they should be able to do so.

The family and the patient need to agree so there won't be any issues. It's a matter of respecting the wishes of the sick person.

It is their choice to make. They are terminally ill so they will eventually die anyway and if they choose this, they can end their suffering earlier. Yes, it may be hard on their loved ones, but at the end of the day, it is their decision.

The most common reason for requesting assistance in dying is not “intolerable physical suffering.” Rather, it is “existential suffering,” including “loss of meaning,” as from the ability to relate to others.

Dying people should have the right to decide what they want because they already know that they will not live any longer. They are old enough to decide what they want even if everybody is against their decision.
